Early Morning Calls and Cozy Homes A Day in HVAC Service
5:30 AM – Rise and Shine
The day starts early in the heating and cooling business, especially during the peak winter season in Northern Indiana. After checking my service schedule and grabbing my insulated coffee mug, I load up my fully-stocked service van and head out to serve our South Bend and Mishawaka communities.
7:00 AM – First Call of the Day
My first stop is a furnace inspection in Granger. These preventative maintenance visits are crucial – they help catch small issues before they become major problems. I thoroughly check:
• Heat exchanger integrity
• Electrical connections
• Thermostat functionality
• Filter conditions
• Safety systems
10:30 AM – Emergency Call
The dispatch radio crackles with an urgent call from Osceola – a family’s heating system stopped working overnight. When temperatures drop below freezing, these situations become our top priority. Within an hour, I’ve diagnosed a faulty ignition system and restored their heat.
2:00 PM – Installation Project
The afternoon takes me to Elkhart for a new furnace installation. Working with the latest energy-efficient systems keeps us on our toes, as technology constantly evolves. Each installation requires precise attention to detail, from proper sizing to optimal placement for maximum efficiency.
5:30 PM – Wrapping Up
Before heading back to base, I ensure all paperwork is complete and my van is restocked for tomorrow. There’s satisfaction in knowing that homes across the region are staying warm and comfortable thanks to our team’s dedication.
Every day brings new challenges and opportunities to help our neighbors stay comfortable through Indiana’s varying seasons. It’s more than just fixing machines – it’s about providing peace of mind to the families we serve.
